| Step # | Instructions |
| 1 | Close down the FileMaker Pro Server if you are using it and all Optigold ISP clients. |
| 2 | Backup your data (.fp5) files. |
| 3 | Download the latest version of the Installer. |
| 4 | Install the new Database Server Installation. (Do NOT replace or overwrite any old files, such as Key_.fp5). |
| 5 | When the installer asks if you want to rename old files to end with .fm extension, respond with YES. |
| 6 | Open Optigold ISP locally (using FileMaker Pro or Runtime) by loading the MainMenu.fp5 file. |
| 7 | When you are asked if you would like to upgrade your files, respond with YES.
| | Upgrading TO Optigold ISP 2.1.8 note: Import old data by entering importold for the login at the login prompt. |
| | Upgrading from pre-FileMaker Pro 5.0 note: You will be prompted to convert your old files. Convert them as it defaults, but name the new files to end with .fm instead of .fp5 (for example: when it wants to save the new, converted MainMenu.fp5 file, name it MainMenu.fm making SURE the extension is in lowercase).If you are prompted to locate any files, the mapping is: Accnts_.USR -> Security_.fp5 TimeCrd_.USR -> Clock_.fp5 Global_.USR -> Global_.fp5 Key_.USR -> Key_.fp5 MainMenu.USR -> MainMenu.fp5 |

| 8 | If you are running the Optigold ISP web interface, load the installer on the web server and run the Web Server Installation. Also, if you haven't checked out Optiskin (a 3rd party web skin for Optigold ISP), you really should check it out. |
| 9 | You are all done. You may need to turn multi user back on and/or put the data files on the server. You can delete the .fm files and/or any aliases in the Optigold folder. |
