Well I know exactly what you are talking about. It has to do with this:
The index that is used for the viewing of the drop-down box is the
description (that's the only way to get it to show the description in the
drop-down without selecting it).
So when you select a line, it says... "Okay, what is the product ID of
this description?" Searches the product table for the first matching
descriptions and then plugs in the product ID for it.
So THAT'S why. And the only way to get around it is to leave the
description OFF of the drop-down selection.
