We are using telnet as of right now, but I'd like to have that changed over
to rsh soon. As far adding homedirs, etc. I'm not sure what you mean? Is
your adduser NOT adding this information for you? If so, what is the exact
command you are using? Here's the format for adduser on FreeBSD, I'm not
too sure how much different this is on other flavors of unix though. But I
wouldn't imagine it's too much different.
adduser [-batch username [group[,group]...] [class] [fullname] [password]]
That should be reading the adduser config, which stores info like the
.dot_dir location, the default root for the home dir, default gid, etc...
