Time: 6:39:01 pmOur business model is a little different than most ISP's. We offer
high-speed access to apartment communities. And Satellite TV as well. We
drop a T-1 in there and offer static IP's to residents. We also rent
satellite decoder boxes and charge for monthly programming. So, after
looking at OG, here are our first round of questions:
First, we must say that the software is absolutely fabulous! Nevertheless,
here are the questions:
1. A large chunk of customers all reside at the same address (we service
15+ properties), but the apartment number differs. Any way to select from a
"Location" drop-down list that will auto-add the address and we just input
the apartment number? Same for Billing Address where the management of a
complex is paying for the first month of service - this would simplify data
entry for us. We'd be willing to pay a customization fee, if not.
2. Because we need to track which customers have which decoder boxes (and
their serial numbers) with their respective access cards (and their
numbers), we need to link the customer with several pieces of equipment in
our inventory. And then release the boxes back into inventory. Then
reassign them with new cards.
3. Also, we have at least 1 Class C per property that we assign. Currently,
there are only 10 assignable blocks. We have at least 15 now and we plan to
grow bunches. We need more of these. We would like a customer to be
assigned a free IP only from the Class C assigned to his/her property.
4. Also, a customer can have up to X IP's. How do we auto-assign additional
IP's and set a cap? It would be great if the Broadband info area could be
customized to do this as we don't need the Broadband stuff, but could use
the fields for IP's, MAC Addresses, Port numbers, etc.
5. What's the best way to get totally familiar with OG? RTFM? How have you
all trained your people? What methods have proven successful?
6. If we use an external billing company to send invoices and post
payments, can we import payments only?
