Search Again: Learning Curve From: Scott Black Date: Thursday, September 3, 1998 Time: 3:34:06 pm Is this as steep a learning curve as it first appears? I used ISP-Billing in the past which is also built on FileMaker but wow, it was nothing like this. We bill in in advance for all our services and it looks to me like this software is geared to bill near or at the end of the term. Is this easily changed? Also, our current billing is a mess. I have already figured out how to import our current customer base and any outstanding balance into Optigold. My plan is to have all O/S balances show a creation date of the day I import the data and create a new "legacy" invoice for any O/S customers which is now subject to the late-payment rules I choose to set up. Does this sound feasible? How did you do it? I am a little queazy about putting priviledged account info into the program to facilitate automatic account creation. Should I be worried? In general, I am going to try and pull about 350 accounts with LOTS of overdue invoices in. Any tips/tricks or encouragement are very welcome. A little scared, Scott
