No, you don't need the client running, in fact... I think you *can't*
have the client running since the plug-in acts as a client.
If there is no network response at all, then Optigold is unable to
communicate with the plug-in for whatever reason. Confirm a couple
things for me... Go to My Stuff -> System Info and make sure the plug-in
version is listed there.
Also, go to Maintenance & Preferences -> General Preferences -> Billing
and make sure it's set to "Batch" and "MacAuthorize Hub" (and not
"MacAuthorize")...
