You are correct to point out the value of name and mail server secondaries
on networks *completely* outside your own, and using the 'buddy' system
among QDNSPro users.

Look.net buddies with MediacomInc.com. Jim Logios, the network
administrator at MediacomInc.com had a great idea to make the buddy system
very easy to use. Both of us have two QDNSPro servers running, one for
primary data files of our own and secondary files from the other network.
The other server handles only our own secondary files.
The ease of this arrangement is that neither of us has to keyboard any data
for the other (we both frequently add new domains). We email an attachment
of our QDNSPro Secondary file, the one used with our own secondary QDNSPro
server. The recepient simply places this Secondary file in their primary
QDNSPro server's folder and selects Restart from the File menu.
We also secondary each other's mailhosts (both of us use two AIMS/EIMS
servers, one for primary and one set up for secondary). If one of our
networks has a failure anywhere from the backbone to our mailhost, mail is
held by the other's secondary mailhost until a frequently attempted
connection is successful.

Bottom line - secondaries on another, completely separate, network is best
and working with another QDNSPro user makes it much easier to accomplish.
