Re: QDNS 2 beta still locks-up on IIciFrom: David Kenney (Mac) Date: Friday, July 18, 1997
Time: 5:28:00 pmWe have similar crashing problems with QuickDNS 2.0b . We launch the app, it
runs for a little while (5 minutes or so) and then we get a Type 11 System
Bomb. But, for that 5 minutes, it runs great.
We have an 8550/132 with 24mb RAM, 10mb allocated to QuickDNS 2.0b, System
7.5.3, OT 1.1.1, only the minimum Apple Extensions, no other applications are
running.
We just have a single domain along with the necessary reverse domains with
very little traffic.
We're inside a firewall so the bulk of the requests get forwarded to our
firewall router which sends them to our ISP for resolving. I've only tested
earlier versions of QuickDNS and they seemed to work fine. We could never
implement the earlier versions because we needed the Forwarding option of 2.0.
The machine is fine because I've been able to retreat back to our copy of
MacDNS on the same machine and that works fine. I've tried running the Get
Machine Info application and that doesn't even properly recognize the machine
I'm running on.
The QuickDNS Log file indicates that everything was working up to the point of
the crash.
Any thoughts?
