lookup time outsFrom: Denis Wauthy Date: Friday, October 10, 1997

I remember the problem was not that serious with previous versions of QDNS and/or Netscape. What has changed that caused this new behaviour? Does the 2.0 version differ in this regard?
I there a way to ResEdit either software to improve the whole thing?
>>I have a problem with QDNS 1.1.2. Many http requests get back with a

>Actually, this can happen with any name server (we've seen this on both
>BIND and Windows NT name servers). What happens is that the browser
>application (most often Netscape) has a very short timeout value for

>finish the lookup (given that the entry isn't in the DNS cache).
The problem persists with sites that I visit daily. Needless to say, QDNS is not restarted that often.
