Does InterNIC play favoritism with selected ISP''sFrom: John Draper Date: Sunday, June 7, 1998
Time: 4:55:00 pmWhy is it that some ISP's like "netcom" or "mindspring"
can register a domain name in just 24 hours, and yet when
I do it, it can take up to 6 weeks. Is there favoritism
at play? Does InterNIC give higher priority to certain
ISP's?
It's been 10 days now since I changed my Primary name server
for "webcrunchers.com" - I remember people saying that it
only takes 24 hours. Understanding their problems with the
recent spamming incident, does it take more then 10 days to
change the Primary name server? I haven't gotten any messages
with them asking for attitional information, other then to
record the change of Contact information. For instance,
I also recorded the desire change in Technical contact information,
and the old contact has since authorised the transfer, but still
I the changes haven't taken effect yet.
has anyone else experienced a 10 day delay in re-pointing to
another Primary name server? If so, does anyone know of
any people woring within Internic that actually manually reads
their Email, instead of these stupid "auto-reply" bots that
make sure I cannot ever talk to a human.... Or is it true
that InterNIC is now operated by mindless robots or machines
and that there are no people working for it anymore? I'm
beginning to wonder.
Please tell me I'm wrong...
John
