Time: 8:29:00 am... one week later.
By matching the DNS log against MacRadius accounting logs, one customer
at a time, we found one customer whose sessions that sometimes matched
the " Dropping bogus reply" entries. I turned out that one of the family
members used vp.chat on their wintel box and it was very ill. On
reinstallation, it is now in good health and the DBR entries have gone
away.
May I suggest that these " Dropping bogus reply" are not always noise and
should be regarded as a problem, especially when they are happening at
10/sec for hours on end.
I had been chasing a server slow down problem for over a month and
followed any lead.
