I was running QuickDNS Pro on the same machine as 4D Server, and ran into
crashes quite often, during times when the 4D database was under load. I
moved 4D Server off to another machine, and I've _NEVER_ had a DNS crash
since. That was back when QDNS Pro was in the 1.XX days. We're talking 3-6
months between restarts, on a DNS server that handles 100,000 plus DNS
qurries per day, during high-ussage days. (I'm a dialup ISP)
Machine: Performa 6220 (603 @ 75 Mhz), 24MB RAM, (12MB allocated to QDNS)
System 7.6, RC5-64 Client software (http://www.distributed.net), Timbuktu
3.0, and minimal extentions and control pannels. Very stripped down.
The server handles DNS for over 20 domains, and does it VERY WELL, and VERY
FAST.

I don't even run the QDNS Admin app on the machine, I run it on my
workstation, and use AppleShare to copy zone files over, or work with them
directly off the server.
