McPheeters Date: Tuesday, April 13, 1999 Time: 8:13:00 pm What is the mechanism that provides the resolving of http://domain.DOM into http://www.domain.DOM ? I notice that for most domains I check, the www is not required for a browser to resolve the web server host. For instance, I can enter lawrence.com in the browser address field and it will find www.lawrence.com. This seems to work for most domains but not all.
