more on reverseFrom: Petrus Date: Friday, April 23, 1999
Time: 7:59:00 amSorry to post more on this, you may respond to me in private to keep the
list clean from a new reverse thread.
Having been aware for some time that my subnet was not delegated to me, thus
making it impossible for me to setup reverse records, I finally decided to
do something about it.
Contacting my ISP to ask them for help they told me that it is not possible
to do delegate subnets, but that I could read 'RFC 2317'.
Ok, did that and I now know everything about classless in-addr.arpa
delegation :-) Since it seems that it's possible I can't understand why they
said it's not and then asked me to read about how it is done ...
So before I contact them again, which would be the best way to get my
records to resolve:
- To ask my ISP to enter reverse records for me in their zone file, and in
that case what exactly do I ask/tell them to do?
or
- To ask them do delegate the subnet to me which, being no techie, seems a
bit complicated, or?
