That depends. Do you have a whole class C subnet, or only part of one?
If you have a full class C, is it part of a larger block that they own, or
is it delegated individually to them by their upstream provider? If it is
delegated by itself to them, they would have to talk to their upstream
provider about redelegating it directly to you; they may not want to do
this, and their upstream provider may not want to do this. The best
alternative in this case is to have them continue to be authoritative, but
have their servers act as secondary for your server.
If you have a full class C, and it is part of a larger block owned by your
ISP, they should be able to delegate it to you without breaking a sweat.
If you have a part of a class C, refer them to RFC 2317 for instructions on
how to delegate a "classless" subnet. It takes a bit of effort, but once
you get the hang of it, it's conceptually easy.
