That's all well and good, but it does sorta depend on where you are right? Here in seattle, El Cheapo is $40 for a cable modem and DHCP.

for 80 you can get 'business' service from the telco @ 768k with 5 IP's (and they'll deligate the reverse DNS)

So, I'm paying twice as much ($205) for my 768k line, and I expect a guaranteed uptime, and better tech support that the telco, which I'm not getting. Plus I'm also not getting reverse DNS. SO am I still being unreasonable in demanding this, before I plunk down more cash fora 1.1 mbit upgrade?

plus I just don't get it, if the ISP is being 'cheapo' why wouldn't they let me take care of it so I don't have to bother them when I change/add a host?
