Search Again: how long of delay with ip address change? From: Donovan Watts Date: Thursday, June 10, 1999 Time: 8:38:00 pm I moved my mail server to another machine so I had to update the new IP address in QuickDNS Admin. Now I can't reach my mail server by name (mail.websurfhawaii.com), only by it's new IP address. Now, how long must I wait for this to filter through so everything is back to normal? Must I do anything else or tell anyone else, like my ISP about this change? In the same vein, what if I want to move my _name server_ to a different machine? I move QDNS Pro and update my records with Admin but must I let my ISP know since he is my ADSL connection as well as my secondary? I'm on digest mode so anyone feel free to email me directly as well as the list. Thanks much.
