Re: Server sizing issue? From: Barry Cotter Date: Monday, July 19, 1999
Time: 8:32:00 pmHi,
I used to run my QDNS 2.x with a large memory partition... ie. 6-10mb. When
I upgraded to 2.2.1 I found that QDNS started to crash frequently and the
only way I could avoid the crashing was to set the memory partition back to
the default. There _may_ have been something else causing the crashing
problem but I couldn't find it. I server 150 domains currently with this
server and find it does tend to be a little slow these days at resolving.
Any thoughts on the memory problem I experienced and, whether more memory
for the app would help with resolution?
I also used to be able to keep the Admin app running but now find doing so
leads to instability.
BTW, I run it on a 6100 w/24mb of RAM, OS 8.1, virtual memory turned off...
nothing else on the box.
Thanks.
Barry
