We definitely have customers using this mechanism. The hardest part seems
to be setting it up. Once it's working, it mostly just works.

Correct. The load balancing record actually constitutes a subdomain, which
is why your secondary server needs to know about it specifically.

I'm not entirely familiar with load balancing issues, but I believe that it
is recommended that you use the version that comes with WebSTAR 4.
