That's incorrect. The listed servers do have the domain info. It's the root
servers that don't list it.

These days, the whois database no longer lists things like holds placed on
a domain. Generally, if the domain is listed in whois, but is not delegated
by the root servers, then Internic has disabled the domain, either
deliberately or not. You have to contact them and find out why the domain
is held up.

It almost is enough to encourage people to register domains with other
countries, because it's unlikely that Internic will foul up *their*
delegations, and some other countries have registration authorities that
are better managed than NetSol.
