QuickDNS Pro crashing (still crashing)

Thank you so much to all who responded so quickly! It's after 5am here and I'm still here trying to correct the problems... think I'm about to stop for the night.

I've tried all three of the suggestions provided with no luck:

1. Claus-Jürgen Schrott suggested trashing the TCP/IP Preferences and then manually re-entering the TCP/IP info. Result: no change.

2. andrew kagan suggested my zone file could be corrupt. I went to my Retrospect archive and restored the primary data from a week ago. Result: no change.

3. "Mia's Virtual Post Office" suggested doing a low-level, zero all data, reformat (drive setup 1.7.2), clean install Mac OS (8.5.1), clean install QDNS. Result: no change. I followed all the steps and it still freezes when you launch QDNS, even with the default empty data folders.

All these tests were run on my primary name server while the secondary was shut down. I am running EIMS on the same server as the primary, and EIMS has continued to operate the entire time.

I have over 100 people in the building dependent on these name servers, and I sure wish I could figure this out before I start getting flamed again in the morning...

The primary domain of my little ISP is http://www.zada.net.

Another unusual symptom: I have my Cisco 2514 split into two subnets and am using one of the ethernet ports as a "private" network for other companies in the building to share the T1, and the other ethernet port as a "public" network for the name servers, mail and web servers. After we noticed the problem, I noted that the traffic LEDs on the Kingston ethernet hub seemed to be showing a much higher utilization than they did before the problems started. If I cycle the power on my router and DSU/CSU, the traffic goes back to "normal" for a few minutes, unless I launch one of the name servers or the mail server, in which case the LEDs start pegging again.

Thanks again for the helpful suggestions. Any other ideas or info would be appreciated. I'm wondering if there is some problem with my router, hub or other piece of hardware???

Another (dumb?) question, is the zone file stored in the primary data folder?
