That's probably because your ISP is responsible for your reverse zone,
which is used to map addresses back to names.

Not for a name server.
There are reasons to have valid PTR records for your various machines, but
if the machine named "ns1" is just a DNS server and never runs anything
else, then a PTR record for it is not strictly necessary.
