thanks again to all who helped me learn this... and to realize that
QuickDNS wasn't even part of the equation... it is an issue between
Webstar and the Macs TCP/IP. And not really an issue. The short answer
is: if one wants to use multiple IPs, for example to support SSLs for
more than one hosted site, you have to separate out these two packages
and let them serve on separate machines. There was a post about using
IPNetRouter to have the mac configured as a router, thereby circumventing
the problematic issue of TCP/IP in modem mode not registering a subnet or
router address. I haven't tried this, and just since I think I owe it to
the poster, I will...
