Somewhat worryingly, I've seen a couple of posts along these lines
recently. QDNS has been running along quite happily and then starts to
crash for no apparent reason. One poster reportedly rebuilt their machine
from the ground up (low level format, zero all data, fresh installs all
the way) to no avail. In the couple of cases posted, the problem seemed
to disappear after 48 hours.
As my immediate upstream provider regularly manages to foul up routing
tables resulting in no access to or from their (and hence our) network,
I'm beginning to understand that there are problems beyond ones immediate
control. This appears to be a case in point although I have absolutely no
idea why it happens and it appears to be a rare, random event. Not much
help I know.
Perhaps the Men and Mice guys know what could cause this?
