Time: 5:29:00 pmI'd say the answer is yes: "the Performa 6220 really is the worst piece of
hardware to roll out of Cupertino CA" but you don't have to run out and buy
a new server....the zone transfer speed is not necessarily indicative of the
overall query response time, and whether it's fast or slow, it really
doesn't matter.
If you know that the zone will not change very much, once you move the zone
over to the server, set the TTLs higher than the defaults...this will allow
the root servers, routers and other devices propagating the domain info to
hold onto it longer and query the server less, if the query-response time
was in fact an issue, which I doubt very much that it is.
