I read the above to mean that you are taking over DNS for a domain (which I interpreted as "web site") that gets a million hits per month. Is this right? The web site gets the 2.5 million hits? Or, since we're on a QDNS list, does this mean that the domain gets 2.5 million DNS hits per month? If the latter, you can stop reading right now. If the former, then I would hasten to point out that 2.5 million web site hits does not come with 2.5 million additional queries to your DNS server. The discussion regarding this question hinted at but never really stated flat out: It is impossible to make a correlation between web site hits and lookups for the associated domain that come to your DNS server. It's certainly not a one-to-one correlation. And a big part of the variable is your own DNS configuration. That being said, has anyone done any comparisons of web to DNS hits?
