SpoofingFrom: Simon Forster Date: Wednesday, November 10, 1999
Time: 6:52:00 pmHi all
OK, 'nother question (average out at around one every quarter I think).
Recently I was checking a domain using the most excellent DNS Expert when
it returned a new and frightening error - namely that our DNS server is
vulnerable to spoofing.
GULP.
I'm fairly confident that previously, our DNS server was given the all
clear by DNS Expert. So what's changed?
And the funny thing is we're running QDNS as our DNS server.
Have I done something to open up a vulnerability or is this DNS Expert
being over zealous - it reports every name server as being vulnerable to
spoofing!
Or am I being really dumb and this can be ignored if you're running
remote diagnostics?
Puzzled AND confused.
