Re: size of RAM/machine for DNSFrom: eric@micromaniac.com Date: Friday, November 12, 1999
Time: 8:43:00 pmYou should be fine with the standard QuickDNS Pro install. It uses less than
2300K RAM, which is plenty for only 15 domains even with lots of hits. This
should fit easily onto your 7200. If the 7200 will do more than just web
page and DNS serving (such as databases and CGIs), you might want to up the
RAM a little. You probably will not need to increase the 2300K. I have
about 10 domains, and QuickDNS Pro has never even gotten close to using up
its available memory, even with a dozen clients using my QuickDNS Pro servers
as their name server settings. If worse comes to worse (unlikely with only
15 domains) just kick it up to 4 or 5 MB.
