All it does is change the potential size of the cache. You can simulate a recursive lookup yourself, if you have a copy of DNS Expert. Using the DNS Query tool, start at a root server, then trace your way down to the authoritative server. Each query will show a response time. Add them up to get your total time. Keep in mind that many of the root servers are hitting their limits, and will often not respond during peak hours. This is a scary thing - the Internet doesn't really scale well past this point without either some redesign, or some bandwidth and processing power upgrades for the root servers. QuickDNS Pro will generally query the most responsive root server, in order to avoid this problem.
