Nope, that's not it. The DNS is fine.
I verified this by sending recursive queries to my local server (using DNS Expert, of course) for the various names listed above. All were resolved in under 300 ms.
However, I have also verified the speed difference between these sites. And I have used this to again verify that the problem is not the DNS: A reload takes just as long as the first time around for both www.kistner-online.com and www.guhl.org.
Furthermore, the problem is not bandwidth. Firstly, I have a decently fast connection that isn't shared with anybody. Secondly, the delay occurs before the page begins to load, not during the load.
Something is bollixed up in the web server. If this is a WebSTAR server, I'd check whatever is acting in a filter or virtual hosts role: WebSTAR Virtual Hosts, Welcome, ClearlyHome, FireSite, or similar plug-ins. Check the settings relating to the slow sites, and also the settings relating to www.resourcecenterdallas.org (which pops right up), because that one is right and the others are clearly wrong.
Good luck!
