Very curious. The server in question (sec1.dns.uk.psi.net.) is authoritative for the co.uk domain:
co.uk. NS sec1.dns.uk.psi.net.

So it should be delegating rmuk.co.uk (which it does). There's nothing lame about what it's giving out right now.

It could be that some other server gave your server false information (always possible).

As to why your server was looking it up in the first place, most likely someone who uses your server as a resolver (you, perhaps) loaded one of your pages into a web browser.
