Mytsterious CrashesFrom: David C. Baker Date: Monday, January 3, 2000
Time: 12:28:00 pmI'm hoping someone has a suggestion, because I'm about ready to call Dr. Kevorkian! Our server is crashing every few hours, and I've thought of everything I can. It's a blue G3 tower running freshly installed OS 9, QuickDNS Pro 2.2.1, WebStar 4.1, Lasso 3.5, FM Pro 4.1v3, and Rebound 2.01. It has a dedicated T1 connection, and the system has been stripped down to nothing. It normally runs with two 128MB RAM modules, and I've run it with both and with each individually.
Other than the fresh installs and low level format, I've tried different memory chips, different memory settings, pulled FM Pro, pulled Rebound, removed third-party plugins (except Lasso), rebuilt the desktop, run Norton, changed the Ethernet cable, forced TCP/IP to remain active, and prayed. It never has a problem starting up but then hangs later. Rebound (when installed) is always able to restart it, but that's a not a good permanent solution, obviously.
Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted!
