Basic DNS problem? From: Larry West Date: Wednesday, January 12, 2000
Time: 3:51:00 amI'm having a problem with Quick DNS Pro 2.2.1, running on a Blue G3 with OS 8.6.
It is serving DNS for two domains. One has an extensive file of hosts (30+), the other is pretty simple (one host, MX record, CNAME). For some reason, the simple one is not working properly. I think I've explored everything, but I'm probably missing something simple.
Using NSLookup to that QDNS server to look up information on that domain results in 'Non-existent domain'. Strangely enough, doing a reverse lookup of the IP address of the server results in the proper server name coming up.
I'm probably missing something really simple. QDNS Admin makes it look like it's serving DNS for that domain properly.
Thanks for your help.
