For domain name registrations and modifications, the completion notice from
NetSol these days says:

The zone files, which make the Internet work, are updated twice daily, 7
days a week, beginning at 5:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Requests received and completed by these times will be included in the
next zone file update. However, your modified record may not be visible
in Network Solutions' WHOIS database for 24-48 hours from the time of
the zone file update.

Does this not refer to the zone files on the root servers? Back when InterNIC
and NetSol where the same, the message specifically referred to the root
servers and it was once a day. I've (almost) always been able to see changes
to my domains in the root servers the day after NetSol/InterNIC says changes
have been completed. Still and all, even though the message says '5:00 a.m.
and 5:00 p.m.' it _is_ Network Dilutions, and we all know how much trust to
place in anything they say...
