Hmmmm...
It might be expected, if your two servers are topologically distant from each other across the net, that an occasional SOA check might fail. However, in order for a zone to expire, the expiration limit must be passed; this is configured in the Domain Information dialog, and defaults to 1 week. That's usually a sign of something more serious than a transitory Internet failure.
I'll mention the misspelling to the product manager. :]
