fail-over fault toleranceFrom: Michael Elph Morgan Date: Wednesday, March 8, 2000
Time: 1:17:00 pmHi, I have a question which has probably been asked before...
I'm trying to do a simple fault tolerance with QuickDNS and WebStar using the QuickDNS Load Balancing Plug-in. I just need a simple fail-over. Because of dynamic e-commerce changing data I do not want any load balancing (not even 1 out of 10000).
In the WebStar manual it says (p.259) that I can uncheck the load balancing boxes and the fault tolerance will continue. However, if I uncheck the load balancing boxes and leave Plug-In Communication ON the plug-in stops communicating with QuickDNS and no fault tolerance is provided.
In addition, I have managed to crash WebStar several times by changing these settings, but that's for the WebStar list I guess.
Am I missing something? Is it possible to do plain vanilla fail-over fault tolerance with QuickDNS?
Thanks!

ps. BTW, is there a list archive for this discussion list?
