No to the first question, and yes to the second.

The misconception here is that the zone transfer restriction is set in the zone file. Instead, it's a server option. It affects all zones on the server, but only insofar as they are served by that server; it doesn't affect those zones as served by other servers.

In other words, take these steps on *each* server:

o Open QuickDNS Pro Admin.
o Open the Server Preferences dialog.
o Make desired changes.
o Close the dialog by clicking OK.
o Quit QuickDNS Pro Server.
o Launch QuickDNS Pro Server.

None of this alters the zone files.
