I have confirmed your results. The problem is, when you ask for any record by that name, or a CNAME by that name, it works. But when you ask for an A record by that name, it answers with no records found. I compared this with the behavior of BIND, and found that BIND handles this as you'd expect: Its response when asked for an A record is the CNAME record plus the A record of the canonical name. QuickDNS also responds this way when the CNAME record is not a wildcard. So this looks like a bug in QuickDNS.
