Re: reverse lookupsFrom: David Ross Date: Thursday, April 20, 2000
Time: 6:06:30 amChanging the subject slightly.
I'm still learning and the DNS & Bind book is on my to do list so I'm
asking for a bit of advice.
One of the xDSL ISPs I'm looking at (CAIS) will not do revers lookups
unless you get a full class C from them. Normally they give a business
only 16 or 32 IPs. So does this mean w/o the 256 IPs (at and extra $50
per month) I'll have trouble in the future running mail services? Plus
if I don't get the 256 now I'm sure I'll have to "move" if I get them later.
This restriction was relayed to me by the sales folks supposedly from
the technical staff. I'm half suspicious the techs don't want to bother
or is there more to it?
Thanks
