My observations indicate that text processing/pattern matching in the
telnet client are extremely inefficient. You can speed things up a lot by
making sure that when you run any command via the OG telnet client that you
redirect *all* unnecessary output to /dev/null. This cuts down on the
amount of text that the client has to match against to find the next
prompt. I think you will find that this cuts the processing time quite a bit.
