I think that's a very good idea, and I think you'll be happier. It's
basically what we do, with various types of machines. We do use a lot
of 6100's.
Caveats:
MacRADIUS can get slow on slow hardware. Your RAS should be able to
tell you the response times, before and after.
We've having trouble on a 6150/66 dedicated to QDNS where it often
has trouble starting up under load. We've tried a 7100 and has the
same trouble, so it might be all machines of that class, or it might
be something else entirely. Just in case you run into it.
6100s don't cool very well. Make sure you have adequate A/C, and/or
consider pointing fans at them.
