After several hours of playing with the server, I eventually reinstalled OS9
and the problem went away. Not sure what was causing the problem, but
somehow it looked as if it only had a single TCP connection available, and
if that was busy doing one look-up, then all other look-ups failed!
Hope I never see that problem again!
