Would it be possible to put the commands into a shell script and pass the
username/passwd etc as parameters and avoid dumping into mysql directly?
Basically fork another shell (shell script/expect script/ etc) and let it
handle the process?

Or use perl and the server to take the fields and then do the inserting
work for you?
