Every domain file has an SOA record. Yours looks like this:

from ns1.masterpix.com:
masterpix.com. SOA ns1.masterpix.com.
postmaster.masterpix.com.
2000102300 ; serial
28800 ; refresh (8 hours)
7200 ; retry (2 hours)
604800 ; expire (7 days)
86400 ; minimum (1 day)

from ns2.masterpix.com:
masterpix.com. SOA ns1.masterpix.com.
postmaster.masterpix.com.
2000101902 ; serial
28800 ; refresh (8 hours)
7200 ; retry (2 hours)
604800 ; expire (7 days)
86400 ; minimum (1 day)

Notice the different serial numbers. This indicates that your
secondary server is having trouble updating (hence the error message
about "failed to look up SOA record").

The obvious suggestion, then, is to try to figure out why one can't
contact the other. If you install DNS Expert on the secondary server
and use the DNS query tool to try to look up the SOA record from the
primary, does it work?
