Windows 2000 DNS provisioningFrom: Adrian Cooper Date: Sunday, December 3, 2000
Time: 2:23:57 amHi all:
I am new to the list having satisfied myself after many months of research, that
OptiGold is the greatest ISP management product out there and then some - and
backed by a great company and person in Shawn who supports this product
incredibly.
My first question is regarding DNS provisioning. Has anyone found a way of
having OptiGold create new domains in Windows 2000 Advanced Server DNS? By
default - Win2K DNS uses standard DNS text zone files, and registry for adding
and configuring domains, boot etc.. But is can also be configured for using text
files instead of the registry - more in keeping with BIND.
The objective is to have OptiGold create the domain boot data and zone files,
and preconfigure it with certain specified information such as MX records, and
maybe CNAMES for customers who need mail for the domain, and a "www" pointing to
a web server elsewhere and so on.
Look forward to alot of participation here.
Thanks alot.
Adrian Cooper.
