Re: Credit Card Processing and Chargebacks

I've had a bit more success than Trish, but only because I've been very
dilligent(sp?) about watching customers.

We've only been in business about 6 months. But whenever a new account is
signed up in person, the customer signs the signup sheet, acknowledging they
agree to the TOS / AUP which states that usage of our service subjects them
to fees, blah blah blah. Anyway, if a customer signs up over the phone, we
mail them along with their first invoice a copy of the TOS / AUP to sign and
send back with their payment. We have setup the Customer Callback stuff in
OptiGold to remind us of customers who need to have their TOS/AUP sent back
to us.

But in order for this to work, you have to watch the usage logs each month
(import them into OG). When chargebacks occur, you have a log of their
activity on your service, and a signed document by the customer
acknowledging payment for service, which they did in fact use.

Hope this helps, it's a pain, but we've already had 3 chargeback attempts,
and have only lost one of them (no TOS) in only 6 months of operation.
