You can set the product to have a $0, 30 day setup fee. On invoicing
preferences, you can set it to charge them ONLY the setup fee (not the
recurring fee). So that would take care of that right off the bat.

Then *when* they get billed you could set them to a unique account type
(billing and such is controlled on a per account type basis).

So generate them an invoice 5 days before they expire, and bill them 0 days
before. The invoice will say "Unless Another Form Of Payment Has Been
Arranged, Your Credit Card Will Be Billed On xx/xx/xxxx." or something like
that.
