You mean the Payment Queue? Cash/Checks can't be posted to the payment
queue because that is used for payments that you are collecting on your
own (credit card/debit). You would be opening yourself up to lots of
errors if you had a pending payment waiting that was the exact amount
they owed. Customers don't always send exactly what they owe.

That's what the Receive Payments button on the main menu is for.
