Re: Advice on switchoverFrom: Albert Rodriguez Date: Friday, March 2, 2001
Time: 9:42:33 amhey robert,
i've just experienced the same tragedy with connectsouth as you did.
luckily for me my previous provider was still in the building and all
the had to do was plug the line back into the hub.
what i did was change my ns1 at network solutions to the new ip address
first, when that updated in the public record then i changed all my
machines to the new ip addresses, including ns1. everything went pretty
smoothly, a little down time waiting for all the root servers to update,
but once that happened (about 12 hours), things were fine.
after that i changed ns2 at netsol. since ns2 pulls data from ns1 that
transition was seamless.
good luck.
