Re: - wildcard?

In QDNS, I have the following extract:

>example.com A 12.345.67.89
>
>*.example.com. CNAME example.com.

When I enter www.example.com in the browser, the default page for
12.345.67.89 is served.

Shouldn't the page for example.com be served instead?

DNS Expert Query for www.example.com returns: www.example.com. 86400
CNAME example.com.

I bought Welcome hoping that it would solve the problem but A.P. says it won't.

As it stands, I have to make entries in Welcome for both example.com
and www.example.com for this to work.

I've just bought an addition 25 domains and am trying to avoid having
to put in double entries for each domain in Welcome or Web* VH (if I
get rid of Welcome)

I'm sure there has to be a way to do this.

Has anyone with multiple VH domains found a solution to this or is
there no way around it?

The reason I'm obsessing about this is that I had a site where I used
TZO.com to do the dns for me. When I entered anything for the host
(xxx, asd, 123, etc) it always went to that domain's main page even
though I was hosting several other domains on the same server and had
a default page for the IP. So I know it can be done! True they're
not using a Macintosh, but we should be able to do the same thing I
would hope.
